Video: Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers previews UCL clash with Atalanta

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers faced the media ahead of Wednesday clash with Atalanta. The Scottish Champions are in Bergamo for the third game of the newly revamped Champions League as they look to bounce back from a humbling defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

However, Celtic will need to be at their best in all departments to get a result against the Europa League Holders, who were mightily impressive last year. The manager was full of praise for his opponents but stated that he would not change his approach to the game.

It will be interesting to see if Celtic can stick to the rigidity of the press of the ball, refraining from giving the Italians space to damage us.

In the last two seasons, Celtic have conceded the most shots on target in the UCL, something that tallies up with heavy defeats in Madrid and Dortmund. The team will need to be firm and aggressive in their approach if they are to take anything from the game.

Brendan seemed a bit reluctant to speak about CCV – I wonder why. When asked about the player, he was keen not to get into any detail and just move on. It looked like he’s hiding something.
