Video: Celtic summer departure scores stunning volley for new club

Celtic summer export Tomoki Iwata appears to be enjoying his move to English football. The Japanese midfielder scored a stunning goal in Birmingham’s game against Boltonb this evening, delightfully scoring a volley.

The 27-year-old joined Celtic in the January of 2022 on an initial loan before the move was made permanent from Yokohama F Marinos.

City signed Iwata for an undisclosed fee with the player penning a three year deal with a view to help them back to the Championship this season.

The departure of Ange didn’t help the ex-J League MVP make the desired impact at Celtic nor did injuries but he was reliable when he was called upon. Perhaps it is the ability to play slightly further forward or to have a run of games that’s benefitting Iwata.
