Video: Celtic-supporting midfielder celebrates in front of Rangers fans

Celtic extended their lead over Rangers to six points despite Brendan Rodgers’ side dropping points to Aberdeen. Celtic were 2-0 up but Jimmy Thelin’s side managed to get even and hold out for a point at Paradise.

On Sunday, Rangers travelled to Kilmarnock as they looked to close the gap but, as we now know, they lost due to a late Marley Watkins strike. In a Twitter/X post today, Killie shared a clip of the goal with one thing standing out – the reaction of David Watson.

The youngster, who is reportedly a big Celtic fan, clearly relished the late goal by celebrating in front of the Rangers support before enthusiastically linking up with his teammates.

At just 19, Watson has impressed under the tutelage of McInnes in Ayrshire. The midfielder has notched up 72 first team appearances, which includes 8 goals and 4 assists.

It should be noted that Watson celebrated when he scored against Celtic last season to rescue a point from Paradise. The talented midfielder will likely have joined Lennon Miller on the radar of the Celtic manager and his recruitment team.
