Video: Celtic’s defensive woes exposed yet again as Steven Davis makes it 1-0

The defence has been an issue all season, while there’s always been a feeling in the big games that we’re just waiting for a soft goal to be conceded.

This is yet another prime example of that as there are several players in a position to stop the attack, but a collective failure allows the Rangers to take the lead:

There’s just no sign of any kind of collective defensive unit here. Scott Brown is turned far too easily so that exposes the back line, but then you’ve got one trying to break out to make a tackle that was never going to be won, and then the familiar sight of defenders needing an extra second to react to a loose ball.

Several positions needs to be reinforced this summer, but finding a commanding centre back who is also a leader has to be one of the biggest needs.
