Video: Celtic’s penalty woes continue as Juranovic misses

Celtic passed up the opportunity to pull a goal back as Josip Juranovic saw his penalty saved by Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian Internationalist dived to his right and parried his strike out for a throw-in as Celtic’s campaign in Europe’s top competition was summed up.

Liel Abada was fouled by Ferlan Mendy in the incident that resulted in Stephanie Frappart pointing to the spot. As Juranovic was on the bench on Sunday, he watched on as Giorgos Giakoumakis missed from the spot against Livingston. The pair reversed their roles tonight as the Croatian Internationalist missed.

It would’ve allowed Celtic a glimmer of hope against the reigning European Champions. However, for all Celtic have impressed going forward, the score remains 2-0 as we approach the break.

  1. I hate it when the keeper saves a penalty but the headline is always a miss. Wouldn’t have been that if Hart had saved one. Credit where credit due. A good save by Courtois.
