One of the highlights of Euro 2020 has been the sight and sound of over 60,000 Hungarian fans at their team’s first two matches of the tournament. The Puskas Arena in Budapest rocked to its foundations as the passionate Hungary supporters roared the players on to a 1-1 draw with competition favourites France.

The TV cameras spent much of the time zooming into the crowd to capture what has been widely termed the “Viking Thunder Clap” or “Volcano Clap”, most famously performed by Iceland fans.

The presence of so many supporters together, inside and outside of the stadium, reminded us all of just how much the noise and passion of football fans has been missed. In terms of the Celtic support, it brought back memories of our own version of this so called Viking/Volcano action.

How great it will eventually be to enjoy scenes like these again in Paradise.
