Celtic hero turned pundit Chris Sutton has had the inside track on Ange Postecoglou since the Australian manager swapped Paradise for Spurs this summer. The 58-year-old was revered in Glasgow but decided to take the next step in his career by becoming Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Whilst fans have been charmed by his clear philosophy and positive style of play, they have also enjoyed his straight talking in press conferences. From discussing his own love of the game, to his background or hopes for the team, the Spurs fans have taken to Ange just as we did. Although, they are yet to see him really bite back at the media and Sutton is preparing his colleagues at the BBC for the differences between ‘mate’ and ‘mate’.

It is a good exchange and Sutton’s point is maybe lost in the humour. Ange was a prickly customer with the media up here when they tried to manipulate his words for headlines. This will of course go someway to preparing him for the pressures of managing in England.
