Former Celtic defender Christopher Jullien was caught up in some shocking scenes in France after the game between his former side Toulouse and current club Montpellier was halted due to the reported release of tear gas. The Frenchman started but he, along with everyone else on the pitch, was forced off after crowd trouble. It was a day to forget on the pitch too for Jullien as his side were beaten 4-2.

The former Toulouse defender returned to action in February for a brief cameo in the win over Raith Rovers in The Scottish Cup. However, he found his time on the pitch limited by the successful pairing of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt, who formed the solid foundation for Postecoglou’s team.

With a year remaining on his contract, Celtic sold the player to Montpellier for €1m plus add-ons. Hopefully, the defender can impress and rediscover the form that brought him to Paradise in the first place.
