Daizen Maeda was unlucky not to double Celtic’s lead after a half volley was brilliantly stopped by Mitov. James Forrest floated a cross in for his wide colleague, who struck the ball sweetly but only for the ex-St Johnstone stopper to tip the ball over the bar.

Celtic took the lead through Benji Nygren, who found the net after a brilliant piece of work from Kieran Tierney. The Scottish Champions will be hoping to extend their lead to make the final exchanges easier to deal with.
