Video: Daizen Maeda doubles Celtic’s lead with tidy attack

Celtic made it 2-0 against Hearts after Daizen Maeda finished off a tidy attack by knocking in from close range. With 23 minutes on the clock, Brendan Rodgers’ team are in total control with goals from Matt O’Riley and now Maeda.

Reo Hatate did very well to hit the line and flash the ball back into the path of his compatriot, who made no mistake with the finish. There was a brief VAR check for offside but the goal was clearly onside after lines were drawn.

Celtic will look to further extend their lead whilst defending to ensure that the hosts are not given any hope of their own.

  1. He STILL managed to sclaff it in. Just not good enough, nothing from him creatively. Palma has done more in a handful of games than Maeda has given us since he signed, but ..”he works hard and tracks back” .. so what? Wouldn’t have to track back so much if he could cross a ball or play a decisive pass. Not a single cross from him today, to my memory. Aaaaand he gets an assist for their goal! Such a poor player to keep getting into our first team. Other players on the bench must watch and wonder just how badly Maeda can play EVERY week and keep getting picked. Maeda has zero confidence in himself and I have even less than that in him. Can’t afford a passenger like him in the CL. JUST. NOT. GOOD. ENOUGH!
