Video: David Turnbull howler gives Leverkusen opener

Celtic went into the interval 2-0 down thanks to goals from Hincapié and Diaby. The first goal was particularly poor with David Turnbull suffering from a horrible mistake in the Celtic box before Bakker cut the ball into the path of the forward, who made no mistake from close range.

It was a goal that really upset the Celtic rhythm. Before that, Kyogo had a couple of good chances and was denied by Tah & the Finnish goalkeeper.

A quick counter attack resulted in the centre halves being exposed and a cut back resulted in another goal for the visitors.

Adam Montgomery struggled against the pace of the Bayer Leverkusen right side, which included the former Celtic full back Jeremie Frimpong.

  1. The boy has been rotten since the start of the season. Another poor performance, hammered at home . Could end up 4 or 5. Oh dear poor Ange.

  2. Booed off the park absolutely hammered. An embarrassment. What will he say about that Celtic really need to consider taking a year off from Europe. That is a huge blow to Ange and his team. Not easy to come back from that 8 goals conceded in two games. Worse start to a season in 23 years. Could be the worst European campaign. His chances of a second year diminish with every game.

  3. DAVID G. SMITH on

How many of those players are actually Anges?

The board punted last seasons under performers for more money than they spent on their replacements……hellooooo!

Stated on here previously that MacKay & Ange would be hung out to dry…….MacKay is already gone and Ange may well be gone by January.

Either the style of play must change to suit the abilities and strengths of the players or players found that can play the system.

Money talks and BS walks in the modern game.

The money is in so whats a half empty stadium to worry about eh?

    Its coming though!

  4. The only mature balanced and fair assessment I’ve read of last night’s match. Celtic are playong some really exciting footie and will get better with the passage of time. Patience please for our Manager.
