In the build-up to this weekend’s Celtic match with Kilmarnock in the League Cup, Derek McInnes has been in the news bleeting on about a penalty decision his team never got against us last season! It may not come as a surprise if McInnes history for whining about things is anything to go by, but it’s clear to see her developing a narrative already.
Never one to give Celtic credit, the ex-Aberdeen boss is one who thrives on excuses and used them continually whenever he was outthought and outclassed by the Hoops. The basic facts are that McInnes can’t stand losing to us and he can’t bring himself to just admit that salient truth. It rips out of him at every turn.
This latest nonsense is just bizarre and should have been ignored by the mainstream media, but there’s no chance of that happening up here in Scotland as we are very well aware of. A fresh season and more moon-howling from people like McInnes about dodgy decisions going Celtic’s way. Deflect, deflect, deflect. It’s always the case with this man. He can’t seem to just say those three simple words: Celtic were better.
And so it goes on…
