SHANE DUFFY has pulled on the Hoops of Celtic for the first time. The 28-year-old Irish defender joined last week on a season-long loan and arrived in Glasgow yesterday. After meeting with his new teammates and manager, Duffy was given the chance to pull on the Hoops, the new No.4 jersey.
Hopefully Duffy’s time at the club is a success and our new No.4 is a hit.
Elsewhere, former Celtic star Mark McGhee said that the Irishman would know what it means to be with Neil Lennon’s side this season on what is a potentially historic season.
Speaking to the Scottish Sun, the former Celtic hero, who was part of the Centenary double-winning side in 1988, reckons that brining Duffy in will work wonders for Celtic as he loves the club and knows what it means to the fans.
“When the stakes are this big, history is there to be made and things get very tribal, it’s good to have players who know what it all means to the fans.
“That’s why Lenny will be delighted to get Shane here now, of all seasons.
“Like James Forrest and Callum McGregor, Shane knows the significance of the ten — he gets it in a way that Boli Bolingoli clearly doesn’t.”
