Former Celtic loanee Timothy Weah has scored for Lille in the Europa League Round of 32 clash against Ajax tonight. The American, who spent six months in Glasgow on-loan from PSG, scored against Celtic in the final matchday at Celtic Park in the game in which Neil Lennon’s side won 3-2.
However, Weah capitalised on a short pass back, putting Lille ahead at home to the Dutch Champions.
Ajax did respond and scored twice, leading 2-1 against the French League leaders. Celtic seemingly had the better of their Europa League opponents, conceding a two goal half-time lead against Lille away from home but winning 3-2 at Celtic Park.
The Celtic Star broke the news that Weah was joining Celtic back in 2019 and the son of George Weah sparkled initially. Although with Brendan Rodgers leaving for Leicester City, Neil Lennon decided to cut Weah’s game time eventually deciding to cut his loan short as the player decided to pick country over the Scottish Cup Final.
