Video: Fan footage shows Hearts fans walking away after Celtic’s third

Celtic are in the ascendancy in Edinburgh this afternoon. Goals from Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo have put Celtic 3-0 up with over half an hour to play.

Hearts made the questionable decision to slash Celtic’s allocation to just 576 briefs for the games, citing their 7,000 strong waiting list. Despite this, there were plenty of unsold tickets around the ground.

One fan that was lucky enough to get into the ground showed the Hearts fans ‘supporting their team’ as they headed for the exit.

The Tynecastle faithful left in droves, those that bothered to buy tickets and turn up, whilst thousands of Celtic fans (that would’ve paid cash) were left to watch from home.

Maybe common sense might prevail and Scottish football can look to implement a minimum away allocation so that we can promote our game. Sky Sports were able to show the thousands of empty seats around Tynecastle with Chris Sutton commenting upon the issue.

  1. Maybe if our fans didn’t sing about the IRA and wave Palestinian flags at such a sensitive time, clubs might sell us more tickets.
