Charlie Mulgrew was an exceptional set-piece taker in his Celtic days. Few could forget his legendary corners or free-kick deliveries, which led to so many goals in Celtic’s memorable 2012/13 UEFA Champions League campaign. Indeed, the full back whipped in assists for Wanayama and Samaras against Barcelona, and one for the latter against Benfica, whilst he scored free-kicks directly, himself, in special games such as the 2011 Scottish Cup final victory over Motherwell.

At 35 years of age, Mulgrew now plies his trade with Dundee United and he showed he’s not lost his touch when it comes to deadball situations as the versatile defender cheekily conned the Arbroath keeper during Dundee United’s 1-0 Scottish League Cup win yesterday afternoon.

It’s great to see the big man still enjoying his football!
