Former Celtic fullback Andrew Gutman scored his first goal for New York Red Bull in their game against LA Galaxy tonight. The 24-year-old was never really able to make an impact at Celtic owing to legal issues obtaining a visa; however, Gutman has made an immediate impact, scoring in the game tonight.

Gutman has been joined by former Celtic teammates Cameron Harper and Patryk Klimala, with the former being on the bench tonight. It is a tidy finish and it makes you think that Celtic may have missed a trick with the attacking left back, especially looking at the options currently at the club.

Gutman joined Celtic from Chicago FC United in January 2019 after trialing at Rangers before opting for the Scottish Champions. Despite having never played for the club in a competitive match for Celtic, Gutman impressed in the Austrian pre-season tour before being sent on loan. The player has played with Cincinnati this season and last but joined Atlanta United earlier this year.

Gutman was one of Celtic’s last signings under Brendan Rodgers but never had a chance in Glasgow due to red tape preventing him from getting a visa.
