Former Celtic midfielder Tomoki Iwata scored a stunning goal for Birmingham City this evening against Wrexham. The Japanese midfielder’s brilliant effort made it 3-1 against the Hollywood-backed visitors from Wales as Chris Davies’ recorded a vital three points in their hunt for promotion.

Iwata left Celtic on deadline day as Davies called in a favour from his former boss to entice the former J League MVP to England’s third tier. In truth, Birmingham have all the makings of a Premier League club but last season, a number of factors went against them – including Tony Mowbray’s untimely leave of absence due to illness.
