Celtic bounced back from a draw at Easter Road to beat St Mirren at Paradise during the week. Goals from Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor sealed the win against a robust St Mirren side that appeared determined to camp in their own half.

As Celtic moved forward into a dangerous area, Tanser halved Liel Abada. Jota’s free-kick was sent towards Carter-Vickers’ defensive partner Carl Starfelt, who battled with Gogic for the ball. It fell favourably and the USA Internationalist smashed the ball with his left foot beyond Jak Alnwick in the Saints net.

The game sat precariously at 1-0 but skipper Callum McGregor ensured that the nerves would be settled with around ten minutes remaining. The midfielder moved into a more advanced role after Nir Bitton came on for Reo Hatate and reaped the rewards after blasting a low effort beyond Alnwick to seal the three points.

Celtic now face Livingston on Sunday as Ange Postecoglou’s team target a win at a difficult away venue.
