Celtic progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 win over St Mirren in Paisley. In what was the tie of the round, Brendan Rodgers’ team faced up against Stephen Robinson’s Saints on Sunday afternoon and produced a workmanlike display.

Kyogo scored Celtic opener thanks to an impressive pass from Callum McGregor to open up the Saints before Luis Palma cut the ball back for the talisman of Kyogo, who netted with a cool finish. Daizen Maeda scored Celtic’s second with 53 minutes played, the Japanese attacker pounced to knock in Matt O’Riley’s effort, that hit the bar.

Throughout the clash, Joe Hart made some good saves up keeping with his excellent displays of late.

In the next round, Celtic will host Livingston at Celtic Park as they look to seal a place at Hampden by putting David Martindale’s team to the sword.
