Video: Howler from Barkas as Midtjylland equalise

Vasilis Barkas has allowed Midtjylland back into the game after an Evander free-kick was fired beyond him in the Celtic goal. The Greek goalkeeper appeared to back out of the save as the ball ricocheted off the post and into the net to restore parity.

Celtic can feel aggrieved as the freekick was given after Stephen Welsh won the ball but sent Paulinho flying in a full-blooded tackle. However, the goalkeeper should have done so much better. Celtic need to get themselves back ahead and there are options on the bench if the manager needs them.

Michael Stewart didn’t mince his words, criticising the player for failing to stop the ball.

He has to be pound for pound the worst goalkeeper in our history. He has been nothing but a disaster and that is being generous

  2. Total waste of time , worst keeper since Andrews and probably one of our worst keepers ever . What a waste of money, he will cost us a lot of points.

  3. Ange seems to be a decent guy, solid who if you work hard, he will pick you. On that evidence….and despite the Greek link, surely we need another keeper (not Bain). Not sure if the Forster links were valid but if not, we absolutely need to sort this position out. This is the ideal game in which to ensure you cover yourself with glory. Barkas did the unthinkable, he let in a shot which was destined for his gloves
