NEIL LENNON has questioned the decision of Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish Government to delay the return to football for spectators. Supporters had been given the September 14 as an indicative date for the return of limited numbers; however, the First Minister announced yesterday that the October 5 as the new date.

Lennon rightfully took the chance in his media conference ahead of Saturday’s trip to Dingwall, which 300 home supporters will enjoy as part of a test event, to question why the decision had been taken especially with all the protocols that were being put in place.

Supporters committed huge amounts of cash to their clubs and face the possibility of seeing their team for a handful of times. The cautious approach of the Government is admirable, it would just be more helpful if it was clearer in terms of what is needed for a test event to take place and what numbers we would be looking at. The Government have ok’d two test events this weekend and said that they would take applications for games in the coming weeks.
