Kit Loferski has revealed that her international clearance to play for Celtic arrived just an hour before kick-off in the recent Glasgow Derby at Broadwood and with Celtic chasing an equaliser in the closing stages of the SWPL1 match, Fran Alonso threw on his new striker and pushed central defender Caitlin Hayes up front for stoppage time.

That allowed the American striker, who Fran Alonso recently told The Celtic Star is even faster that Clarissa Larisey who left the club in January to sign for Swedish side BK Häcken, with an eye to participation in the Canada squad for this summer’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

That of course gave her Celtic debut and the chance to get an early indication of what it means to play for Celtic after Caitlin Hayes grabbed a hugely important equaliser in the 99th minute of the match to set off wild Celtic celebrations and of course lead to theRangers assistant manager disgracing himself and the women’s game with that assault on the Celtic manager Fran Alonso, which led to a 6 match ban being imposed by the Scottish FA.

Kit Loferski went on to play against Partick Thistle on 2 April, in a match Celtic won 2-0. It was all rather low-key after the drama at Broadwood as it also clashed with Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side playing in Dingwall against Ross County.

Now speaking to Celtic TV Kit Loferski after a few weeks delay, has got her ‘Welcome to Celtic’ interview with Celtic TV. And yesterday The Celtic Star asked Fran Alonso how the new signing is settling in with an eye on Sunday’s must-win match against Glasgow City.

Kit appreciates the warm welcome she’s had since arriving at the club and being thrown in at the deep end against theRangers and her account of that Celtic goal is well worth listening to!

“The girls have been great, they work very hard. Overall I’ve had a really great experience so far. Everybody has been very welcoming and kind,” Kit said.
