Kris Boyd was clutching at straws once again yesterday afternoon when working as a pundit for Sky Sports Scotland. The former Rangers striker rarely ever gives Celtic or our players the appropriate evaluation when working for the subscription based broadcaster and his clear bias towards his old team and the contempt for ours is always on show.

It’s remarkable that he’s allowed to even call our games as you’d think the Sky Sports brand would want someone more adept at football analysis and less gibbering fool. The second goal for James Forrest yesterday was being put under the microscope by the panel, which included former Celt Charlie Mulgrew and Scotland international James McFadden.

Even they two were aghast that instead of praising Jamesy from the outset for his wonderful second goal, and the guile and work rate that was used to get in past the Dark Blues’ defence to tuck away a powerful low shot that left McCracken with no chance, he decided to make himself look more ridiculous (if that’s even possible) and question whether or not the Hoops attacker used his hand in the build-up!

After his favourite team managed to overcome Stephen Robinson’s St Mirren yesterday 2-1 in the early Sunday kick-off, he was clearly quite upset that a James Forrest renaissance had ruined what he thought was a golden opportunity for Celtic to drop points in the City of Discovery. Surely Sky Sports must be thinking of getting someone else to do the coverage of Scottish football soon?

Listen to this:

Makes it all the sweeter!
