CELTIC were again caught out by lazy defending as Sparta Prague drew level before taking the lead after 37 minutes. The Czech Republic side went behind to a brilliant effort from Odsonne Edouard but this lead was forfeited by weak defending that has plagued our season thus far.

The equaliser:

Christopher Jullien won the initial ball, despite not fully clearing it. Scott Brown was under it but at two attempts couldn’t clear it allowing the ball to squirm its way to the three maroon jerseys at the back post – all being played on by McGregor and Edouard.

Prague took the lead after a fairly weak cross went between two defenders and the goalkeeper didn’t come from his line, allowing the simplest of tap-ins. Whether it is Bain’s fault for refusing to come, Ajer’s for not screening the pass or Laxalt for allowing a cross, there’s a few reasons but this defending has blighted Celtic’s season thus far.
