Listening to Neil Lennon on BBC Sportsound leaves you in no doubt that he believes that he is going to be the Celtic manager next season and will be given the responsibility of carrying out the major rebuild that he accepts is now required. End of an era? It’s not a bad era to have had, says the Celtic manager after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Ross County in the Highland as he reminds us of the Quadruple Treble that was completed in December after a penalty shoot-out win over Championship side Hearts.

Asked on BBC Sportsound if Celtic need a rebuild, Lennon said; “Yes, I would say so. I’ve done it before so why I can’t be the one to do it? So far I’ve not been told anything otherwise.

“I love this job, I love the club. This has been a difficult season in a number of ways but you always want to rebuild and go again.”

On his message to the fans, Lennon says: “I apologise, it wasn’t for the want of trying the players were putting in the effort but it wasn’t good enough and we’ve let the fans down.”

If you can find a Celtic supporter who agrees with Lennon, who has won 5 titles as both a player and a manager at the club but is now in danger of tarnishing his own legacy.

It is time to go Neil. The Celtic support have had enough of this stuff and it is facial, delusional and cannot be doing you any good personally. Please step aside. And if you will not or cannot, then the Celtic Board, led by the highest paid CEO in British football, Peter Lawwell really need to make the call themselves, as custodians of our club.

This has to end and it has to end immediately. Just listen to this, it is astonishing. Lennon walked away from this interview but he really now must walk away from Celtic.
