Virgil Van Dijk has always spoke well of his time at Celtic. It was with the Hoops that he got his first taste of Champions League football, and made his name before joining Southampton. Few could begrudge Van Djik the move to the English Premiership as the defender has gone on to greater things, by signing for Liverpool and winning the European Cup, as well as being almost certain to add the English Premier League title to that honour.

The Ballon d’Or nominee was videoed in Liverpool training today, alongside Celtic fanatic and teammate, Andrew Robertson. As the Dutchman lined up a free kick, Robertson can be heard shouting: “Just like your Celtic days, top corner.” Van Dijk duly obliged, smashing the ball into the postage stamp of the net, with a strike akin to that of his free kicks against Inverness, Dundee and Hibernian.
