Video: Mark Wilson on Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers announcement

Mark Wilson spoke to Sky Sports Scotland today to give his initial reaction the to the return of our former manager. Brendan Rodgers, who was relieved of his duties as boss of Leicester City in the English Premier League outfit a few months ago, has now signed on again in Glasgow after penning a three-year deal with the eight-times Treble winners.

A Treble winner himself on two occasions during his tenure at the club from 2016-2019, as well as becoming an Invincible Scottish Premiership Champion, will now have the task of continuing the good work that Ange Postecoglou had begun before he decided to leave for the lure of the big lights down south at Tottenham Hotspur.

Rodgers left Celtic Park last time under acrimonious circumstances and no doubt he will look to rectify that fractured time that was endured when he decided to leave us in the lurch mid-way through the season. Many are still hurting from that exit but if he starts where he left-off and continues to win silverware, then all will be forgiven in due course.

Ex-Celtic defender Wilson reckons that he believes that no apology is necessary from Brendan Rodgers on his return to the Parkhead hot-seat and that winning will be enough once he starts setting about building the Hoops in his image once more.

About Author

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
