Matt O’Riley spoke at the Celtic Fan Media Conference this afternoon which was attended by around a dozen sites and podcasts, including The Celtic Star who asked the first question of the recent signing from MK Dons who has certainly hit the ground running at Celtic having been thrown into the deep-end playing in home games against the likes of theRangers and Dundee Untied as well as away matches at both Tynecastle and Pittodrie.

We wanted to know what Matt thought of the intensity of the Scottish game and also the quality and with ours and all the other questions he provides a thoughtful and well considered answer.

Plenty to enjoy in this fan media conference, the last one was a little bit laboured with the three signings from the J-League Maeda, Hatate and Ideguchi all appearing at the same time and all questions and answers having to go through a translator.

There were none of those practical issues today and Matt was happy to answer all the questions with one or two headlines bound to emerge, like him having an eye on an international call-up for Denmark ahead of the World Cup. The Celtic midfielder could play for England, Norway or Denmark (his mother is Danish and he can speak the language) but would certainly NOT say no if asked to represent his mum’s country!

Asked to name the player who has impressed him most since arriving at Celtic…plenty to choose form but he opted for Jota. Matt also reveals that the advice from an ex-Rangers player he was given before heading up to Glasgow to sign for Celtic and also jokes about watching Peter Grant’s goalscoring celebrations after grabbing a goal For Celtic, presumably the one against the old Ibrox club.

Here’s Matt O’Riley speaking to The Celtic Fan Media earlier today. Enjoy…
