Neil Lennon has said that Celtic’s squad isn’t ready for the Champions League yet. The Irishman who has enjoyed success with the club as a player and a manager knows what it takes to be successful in Europe and believes that Brendan Rodgers needs to strengthen further if he wants to enjoy success in Europe.
Rodgers said that he wanted to continue the club’s success domestically whilst competing in Europe. Lennon, however, thinks that the Scottish Champions need to add a few more first team ready, Champions League quality, players.
With Jota and Carl Starfelt leaving, Celtic will likely see two first team vacancies. Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke were signed to replace Starfelt but you’d imagine that another attacker and a defender would be high up on Celtic’s wishlist. Daniel Podence of Wolves and former Celt Kieran Tierney have been linked and will no doubt continue to be linked until the end of the summer.
