Celtic’s Liam Scales has reacted to that beautiful goal against theRangers yesterday afternoon at Pittodrie by proclaiming “of course I meant it” in a cheeky video. The Celtic loanee has really come into his own under interim boss Barry Robson – another with strong Celtic connections – and the ex-Shamrock Rovers defender topped it off with a goal against the Ibrox club.

After the Hoops dropped points against Motherwell at home on the Saturday, many thought it would be a case of the gap at the top of the league looking down on theRangers being cut back ten points once again – essentially cancelling out much of the damage caused by our great derby win against Mick Beale and his men. It wasn’t to be though, as our undercover agent made sure we still increased our lead with his wonderful performance and goal.

Despite it looking like a cross for his strikers, the Irishman has maintained that he saw Allan McGregor off of his lime and thought he’d give it a try – after all, if you don’t buy a ticket, you canny win the raffle, as they say. He certainly bought a ticket alright if it is the case he meant it, with the ageing McGregor in no man’s land for Scales’ delightful lob.

It certainly turned out to be another Beautiful Sunday!
