On This Day in 2017, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic faced Linfield at Celtic Park. It was a charged atmosphere given the relationship of the visitors from Belfast with Rangers and their roots. As a result, the songbook was belted out in full force at a near-capacity Paradise as Rodgers’ side looked to book their place in the next round.

Two goals from Scott Sinclair, a low finish from Tom Rogic and then a thunderous effort from Stuart Armstrong concluded the 6-0 aggregate win over the Northern Irish side.

Extended highlights of the game, courtesy of Linfield, are available below. There were a number of chances that Celtic should have taken and it could have been double figures.

The game featured a banner celebrating Celtic’s Invincibles season, which saw Rodgers and his team completed the season winning all three domestic trophies without losing a game.
