On This Day in 1986, Celtic travelled to Pittodrie to face Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen knowing they hadn’t won in 4 years in the North East. A goal from Mo (Judas) Johnston was enough to give all three points to Celtic. The away supporters celebrated wildly, especially when it was announced that Clydebank had beaten Rangers 2-1.

Johnston’s effort was an excellent solo goal and it would be result in a crucial win for Celtic in a season that would go down to the last day. As the support remained in the ground, the fans came back out well after full time to celebrate in their towels.

Also On This Day in 2011, Celtic travelled to McDiarmid Park to face Derek McInnes’ St Johnstone with a ridiculous 6pm kick-off scheduled. This kick-off time resulted in protests from the Celtic supporters. A goal from Beram Kayal on the stroke of half-time sealed the three points for Neil Lennon’s side, which maintained a five point lead with seven games remaining.
