On this day, four years ago, Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic team were in swashbuckling form as they dismantled Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Kieran Tierney got the scoring underway with a sensational strike, which crashed in off the underside of the crossbar, and the young full back then turned provider with an outstanding cross for talisman Moussa Dembele. The French striker made sure of the points in the second half, when he nodded home Boyata’s square ball, after Armstrong swung in a dangerous free kick.
On reflection it is quite staggering to note the number of key players to have departed the club since this fixture.
