Scott Brown bowed out after fourteen successful years with Celtic today in the 0-0 draw at Easter Road. On his 620th appearance for the club, the Celtic captain couldn’t inspire his side to all three points as a sorry campaign ended in a stalemate. Elsewhere, Rangers completed their unbeaten league campaign with a win at Ibrox over Brown’s future employers, Aberdeen.

There were calls from those at Ibrox that this current crop of players were ‘invincible’ having gone the full 38 games without defeat; however, Brown issued a brilliant response stating that during his time, he had completed a ‘proper’ invincible season.

Brendan Rodgers’ team in 2016/17 finished the league drawing just four times and winning 34 as they won all three trophies that season. Celtic followed up this first Treble with three more in consecutive seasons.
