The SPFL official Instagram account have put fans in the mood for the kickoff of the new league campaign by showing the vital moment of the 2016 opening day. Brendan Rodgers’ side travelled to Tynecastle to face Hearts.
The Irishman was able to include Scott Sinclair on the bench after completing a £3.5m switch earlier that day. With the game level thanks to a good goal from James Forrest and a dubious penalty from Jamie Walker, Rodgers looked to his bench.
Sinclair came on and immediately his impact was felt. He had first contact in the box from a Hearts corner, which sprung a counter attack against the Jambos.
Leigh Griffiths burst down the left, taking an extra touch to open up the square pass to Sinclair, who finished neatly.
The ex-Chelsea and Man City man then celebrated wildly with the Celtic supporters that were lucky enough to be in the Roseburn Stand that day.
