St Johnstone’s League Cup Final victory over Livingston today meant that they became the second most successful team in Scotland of the last ten years, adding to their Scottish Cup triumph in 2014. Congratulations go to them for that and I’m sure absolutely no ill will from anyone at Celtic Park.

It was an enjoyable match and the scenes of celebration were nice to watch.

Bizarrely, a St Johnstone page on Twitter has uploaded a video of the team bus driving past Celtic Park. The camera then pans round to the League Cup trophy and and someone can be heard saying “look at that, we’ve got your cup.”

It’s all a bit weird and humourous. I doubt if many fans will be annoyed by this or begrudging of the Saints having their moment in the sun, it’s just a bit perplexing as to why they would think anyone at Celtic would be bothered by them winning the cup at our expense, and why Celtic would be in their thoughts after such a great day.
