Scotland manager Steve Clarke has provided an update on Callum McGregor’s fitness, claiming that there are no major concerns moving forward. Clarke, who is preparing his side to face N Ireland and Netherlands, will be without one of his midfield generals as the Celtic skipper is unavailable through a calf/achilles injury.

Speaking after the squad was announced, the Scotland manager said that he had spoken to McGregor and that there were no injury concerns moving forward.

There had been a rumour peddled by the Record that McGregor might be out for the season; however, Brendan Rodgers insisted that he was hopeful that his manager would be back after the international break and be fit for the game against Rangers at Ibrox.

McGregor will be keen to get himself back to his best ahead of the European Championships in Germany this summer, where he will likely start in the midfield.
