The Green Brigade Ultras issued a plea for funds earlier this month, in order to finance a full stadium tifo display for the first match of the season. If the target was exceeded, the group declared “We won’t stop at one tifo: we will keep the fund running to support all tifo initiatives throughout the season. This will include bigger, better, more regular tifos as well as at least two full stadium tifos for the season.”
That moment has now been reached, as the gofundme page has now hit the £20k target and gone £660 beyond so far.
To mark reaching the milestone, the group vowed “We’ll be there to give the bhoys a cheer, when the league flag flies…”
The Twitter post, uploaded to the North Curve Celtic page, served as a great reminder of what these funds can achieve. Some images of the display are also present in the thread beneath the above embedded video.
The group have now extended the target to £25k, in a bid to fund a second full stadium display and support the tifos in between. It is one of the very few times that funds have been sought to finance displays in the group’s 16 year existence.
