OKAY let’s have a wee experiment. Here’s the question we want you to answer.
You have a choice of 3 Scotland international midfielders and you can only select ONE to play for Celtic.
Who do you choose?
The 3 choices are:
1. STUART ARMSTRONG – the man with the best hair and the best song in the game. Played an important role in the Invincible season and scored the equaliser in the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen just after Jonny Hayes had given Aberdeen the lead. Coincidentally that was the last time before last night that Celtic kicked off after conceding and played their way to a goal without the opposition touching the ball. Armstrong was sold to Southampton in the summer for £7million.
2. JOHN McGINN – The one that got away during the summer. Brendan wanted him, Peter tried to play hardball on the fee payable to Hibs, it dragged on and just before the English window closed, the then Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce, nipped in and stole the player from under our noses. It caused angst at Celtic with the infighting only recently being set aside due to our spectacular return to form in recent weeks. None of that is McGinn’s fault though so feel free to select him purely on his footballing abilities.
3. RYAN CHRISTIE – He had to go out on loan twice to Aberdeen, where Derek McInnes reckoned he was their best player. He came back in the summer as Armstrong was going out the door and McGinn’s arrival was eagerly anticipated. There was talk of another loan move, this time to Sunderland, but nothing came of that. Brendan meanwhile continued to make noises about the size of his squad and some fringe players having to look elsewhere if they wanted to play. Moussa Dembele’s transfer blew up quickly and he was gone on a puff of smoke to Lyon, with no time for Brendan to source a replacement. Christie came on in a few games as the third choice striker and did okay. It took until Olivier Ntcham felt his hamstring tighten towards the end of a goalless first half at Murrayfield against Hearts in the Betfred Cup semi-final for a window of opportunity to open up for Christie. He hasn’t looked back since.
So make your choice now, which of the three would you prefer to be in the Celtic team, Stuart Armstrong, John McGinn or Ryan Christie?

Speaking to the official website after last night’s brilliant performance against RB Leipzig, Christie stated that that was his best footballing experience to-date.
“That’s probably the best atmosphere I’ve played in in a Celtic shirt, and I loved every minute of it,” he said.
“I’m obviously delighted, not just for myself but for the whole team, to get the win which we were so desperate to get beforehand.
“The win also opens up the group and we can take real confidence going into the next fixtures in this competition. We can definitely get out of the group, and while we’ve got a tough game away to Rosenburg, we’re back home again after that.
“You’ve seen the impact the crowd had against Leipzig, and that gives us a real boost and can completely change the dynamic of games. Hopefully we can get a similar result against Salzburg too.”
