Celtic overcame the daunting task of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park winning 3-1 to maintain the two point advantage over Rangers.

A wonderful goal from Odsonne Edouard gave Celtic the lead at half-time and it looked to be game over when Leigh Griffiths found the net as Neil Lennon’s side stepped up a gear with their intensity and hunger shining through.

With 66 minutes on the clock, Alan Power scuffed a shot that Nicke Kabamba instinctively headed beyond Fraser Forster to drag Killie back into the game. However Celtic weren’t ready to let their lead slip and quickly regained the two goal cushion as Jullien rose to meet a Griffiths corner in front of the Chadwick Stand.

After the game, Jullien was happy with the display as well as his own goal.

Manager Neil Lennon praised his side, who at times played some lovely football and were lucky not to score more.

“It was a great performance at a difficult venue. I thought we could have won the game by a lot more.

The manager hinted that the striking pairing of Edouard and Griffiths may be a long term plan if they keep performing well.

“They played well together, I thought their link up play at times was very good.”
