A FRUSTRATED Neil Lennon could not quite believe that Celtic hadn’t managed to take at least one of the numerous chances created today that would have guaranteed a win against the ultra-defensive Livingston who – fair play to them – got the point they worked ever so hard for.
“I’m frustrated. We had quality chances but we overplay at times. Our set-play delivery needs to be better as well,” Lenny said to Celtic TV after today’s game, see below.
“Total extreme from last week. Sometimes the fans need to be excited and I thought the players did what they could, especially in the first-half, but they lacked that little bit of punch today.
“I think if we’d have got the goal at any stage we would’ve won the game comfortably.
“We are not firing on all cylinders at the moment.
“We are in a strong position. We know what we have to do in the league and we’ve got a big semi-final to look forward to as well.”
Lenny has a successful job interview to get through if he has to realise his ambition of getting back his old job on a permanent basis. Today didn’t do him any favours to be frank but Neil Lennon knows that and will look to sort it out for next Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-Final at Hampden. That is a must win match and we’ll see a very diff approach from the Hoops. Lenny will guarantee that.
