John Kennedy has admitted that Celtic weren’t nearly good enough in the final third as they relinquished their four-year stranglehold on The Scottish Cup with a 2-0 defeat at Ibrox. An early goal from Steven Davis then an own-goal from Jonjoe Kenny gave Steven Gerrard’s side a half time lead but chances fell to Stephen Welsh, Odsonne Edouard (multiple), Moi Elyounoussi and Leigh Griffiths but the game still finished with the two first half goals settling it and Celtic not registering a goal.

The defeat means Celtic will finish a season without silverware for the first time since 2009/10 after Tony Mowbray’s calamity of a season. Now, Dominic McKay will be tasked with a total overhaul, building the club back in the face of a rival that are relishing their newly found perch.

Celtic are their own worst enemies, as has been the case this season. Missed opportunities, cheap goals and poor subs. It really has been a season to forget. The sooner we can get back to games and put this hellish season behind us the better.
