Welcome to Celtic Kasper Schmeichel, Brendan is delighted

Welcome to Celtic Kasper Schmeichel…

Celtic have completed the signing of Danish international keeper Kasper Schmeichel on a one year deal with the option of a further year. Kasper is well known after his long and illustrious career down south particularly with Leicester City where he was a vital part of the Foxes famous EPL winning side of 2016.

He also won an FA Cup with Leicester City under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers who was one of the reasons the Dane decided to come to Glasgow. At nearly 38 Kasper is at the tail end of his career, but he still has the quality required to compete at the top level. The fact that he played in all his nation’s games at Euro 2024 testifies to that.

Most supporters were expecting a ‘younger’ replacement for the retiring Joe Hart, but I’m sure that most of us are satisfied with the signing of a keeper as talented as Kasper.

He’s got the ability as well as the experience, and new signing VilJami Sinisalo will learn so much from his fellow Scandinavian who will be his mentor at Celtic.

I’m sure Kasper will be as successful as Joe Hart was at our football club.

Welcome to Celtic Kasper Schmeichel.

I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. So that’s our headlines, an old goal keeper.
Anything else is once again looking stagnant and dragging on.
Rodgers doesn’t have the guts to challenge Lawell.
He will just accept whatever is sent his way.
Business should be done by now, but the season tickets are sold, so Lawell is happy to keep building the bank balance, Does the team matter to Lawell, I don’t see any evidence that it does.
We eventually won the league, I feel that was down to the senior players, The players themselves seemed to ditch Rodgers boring style, We were calling for the boards heads until theRangers collapsed, the league could so easily have been lost.
    Deja Vue springs to mind.
