“We’ll be ready”, Celtic midfielder eyes Hampden glory against Rangers

Celtic midfielder Arne Engels has said that his teammates will be ready for next month’s Premier Sports Cup Final. After Celtic demolished Aberdeen 6-0 on Saturday, Rangers narrowly beat Motherwell to set up a Glasgow Derby Final in December.

Taking to Instagram, Engels said that Celtic will be ready for the game as they look to secure their first silverware of the season.

Engels joined from Augsburg in the summer in a deal worth £11m as the Belgian was given the task of replacing Matt O’Riley’s role in the team. In 12 games, Engels has scored three goals and assisted on five occasions as he looks to live up to the sizeable price tag.

The Belgian Internationalist was impressive in the win on Saturday and he will be eager to continue to improve under the management of Brendan with quality players like Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate to learn from.

Celtic will switch their attentions to the UEFA Champions League with RB Leipzig arriving in Glasgow. The German side are the Pot 1 team but have no points after three games. Engels will have experience of facing Leipzig in the Bundesliga and he’ll be eager to impress.

  1. I watch rb liepzig the are like most Germans affecent they won’t give much away you have to work for it there players do an extra two rolls when impeded so we keep 11 men on pitch we are in with a good chance finance are big between the clubs tv money and red bull backing but Celtic in Rodgers have got some bargains players who are worth more than they bought them for and at Celtic park I’m confident of a result dortmund game was the perfect storm and we didn’t deserve that first half result

  2. Before the Glasgow Derby cup final, we have 8 testing matches to overcome first?
6 of those games will be high intensity pressure matches also.
Could be a reason why Rodgers was getting irate, over slackness in our play at times against the sheep?
The semi final, was possibly a marker put down, for the full 90 minutes team, that we have to become and remain also?
If we remain consistent with such an approach taken in every game before the final, then our season is going to place ourselves in a great position for the remainder of the season to come?
It certainly would mean that we should steamroller over the scum, especially as they can’t even get close to a manner of football, that we are capable of producing?
Game management is going to be massively important for Rodgers to get right also, but with a full healthy squad in place for ourselves, then that should also be straightforward for Rodgers to handle also imo?
