Celtic midfielder Arne Engels has said that his teammates will be ready for next month’s Premier Sports Cup Final. After Celtic demolished Aberdeen 6-0 on Saturday, Rangers narrowly beat Motherwell to set up a Glasgow Derby Final in December.
Taking to Instagram, Engels said that Celtic will be ready for the game as they look to secure their first silverware of the season.
Engels joined from Augsburg in the summer in a deal worth £11m as the Belgian was given the task of replacing Matt O’Riley’s role in the team. In 12 games, Engels has scored three goals and assisted on five occasions as he looks to live up to the sizeable price tag.
The Belgian Internationalist was impressive in the win on Saturday and he will be eager to continue to improve under the management of Brendan with quality players like Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate to learn from.
Celtic will switch their attentions to the UEFA Champions League with RB Leipzig arriving in Glasgow. The German side are the Pot 1 team but have no points after three games. Engels will have experience of facing Leipzig in the Bundesliga and he’ll be eager to impress.
