BIRTHDAY BHOY Brendan Rodgers picked up a couple of gifts from the Hamilton keeper and another 3 points to maintain Celtic’s 100% domestic record this season.

It was 3-0 in the end but it could easily have been double or treble that score. And talking about Trebles…

Afterwards Brendan was pleased with both the performance and the result.

“I thought we played very well,” Brendan said.

“We had to work for it. Hamilton have had some difficult results but they were very resolute.

“We created a lot of chances, didn’t quite finish them all, but a very good win for us. So I’m really pleased.

“I thought we were very strong. We try to be very compact as a team and at that moment where we had to show a bit of pace, at the back, we did that so we have another clean sheet.”

The Celtic boss praised Scotty Sinclair who continued his great goal scoring run by converting a lovely cross by Lustig near the end. His header was a reward for another outstanding performance from the Englishman.

“You see it in his body language, the aggression in his game,” Rodgers said of Scotty.

“His consistency these last few months has been excellent. He will always score a goal. You see his confidence is at a really high level.”

Inevitably Brendan had to address the matter of the approaching closure of the transfer window.

“We know where we want to improve. We’ll have to wait and see what we can get done.“
