Winning the double will prove difficult, but not impossible. Just remember that…and this applies to both the Celtic men’s and women’s teams. Both are chasing the same prizes, league titles and the Scottish Cups but both are currently trailing theRangers in the league.

We are getting to that stage of the season. For the men the split is almost upon us and each and every game is crucial. We also have a Scottish Cup semi-final to negotiate against Aberdeen so all the big games will be coming thick and fast.

And for Celtic FC Women the split gets underway this weekend where Elena Sadiku’s Ghirls can narrow the gap to just one point at the top of the SWPL1 by defeating theRangers at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie on Sunday 17 March – St Partick’s Day! Celtic FC Women also have a Scottish Cup semi-final against theRangers next month and they need all the backing that the Celtic support can give them if they are to win their own double this season.

Meanwhile Brendan Rodgers’ side is currently two points adrift from top spot, and with a big game at Ibrox looming can’t afford any more slip ups. Celtic also face Aberdeen in the Scottish cup semi-final and if we win we will have to overcome Hearts or theRangers if we want to lift the Scottish Cup.

That is going to be a very difficult task, especially with the way we’ve been playing lately. Plus the fact that we are missing our most experienced and valuable players. But while it might be difficult, it’s not impossible, far from it. We are Celtic after all and have overcame much more trickier obstacles in the past.

We need to have that belief that we can be successful. We are up against theRangers and not Real Madrid, we can prevail and win not only the league but the Scottish Cup also.

We are the biggest club in the country and have won five of the last seven honours available. We can do it, keep the faith.

And last season Celtic FC Women proved themselves to be the top team in the country, even if they were robbed of the league title when ‘the cry was no defenders’ at Ibrox as Glasgow City walked in the goal in the final few seconds that won them the title.

This time it can be a different outcome and Elena Sadiku has got her team believing, playing well and know that if they can get the better of theRangers on Sunday then everything is possible.

The down side in all of this is that while Celtic can eye two doubles over at Ibrox they are actually eyeing two trebles and even some European glory too! Clement’s side have already won the League Cup and theRangers Women should lift the Women’s version next weekend when they play Patrick Thistle in the final. With both their sides leading in their title races at the moment and both through to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup they are in with a chance of a clean sweep of all six major Scottish honours.

Brendan Rodgers and Elena Sadiku must do everything that they can to make sure that isn’t happening. It’s time for both of our teams to show that they’re the finest in Scotland.

“We’ll never give up until we’ve won the cup and the Scottish football league…”

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
