‘We’ve already started’, Ange Postecoglou transfer update but no Ajer or Edouard talks

Ange Postecoglou has promised the Celtic support that there will be a recruitment drive in the coming weeks as the Australian prepares himself for the return to competitive action in the coming weeks. As the 55-year-old was unveiled as Celtic manager, he said that the club would be entering a season of change and there he would assess whether there would be new faces required both in the coaching staff and in the team.

Celtic need to sign a number of players in key positions and Ange told the media that the work was already underway with a recruitment drive required to qualify for the Champions League and regain all three trophies.

‘We’ve already started. With the players we have existing they will all be treated on merit.

‘I haven’t spoken to Kris Ajer or Odsonne Edouard. I will have discussions with them.

‘We will make the best decisions for the football club’.

The Celtic boss said that Ajer and Edouard were both in the country and that he would discuss their future in due course ahead of the rebuilding job that Ange and Dom are undertaking. The manager speaks well and he is handling himself in front of the media impeccably.

The boss will need to get some players in the door but it is likely that Ajer and Edouard will depart this summer. McKay said that the manager would have the backing from the board as he looks to bring an exciting brand of football to the club.
