As the transfer season is upon us yet again, the fever pitch is visibly rising out there on Celtic cyberspace. With the Hoops linked with all in sundry it feels like, the fans are all eager to hear any titbits or rumours that involve our club.

Over the past few months, Celtic have been heavily connected with moves in the Japanese market. With Ange Postecoglou once managing in the J-League before he arrived on these shores, coupled with the fact Kyogo Furuhashi has been a storming success at the club, it stands to reason then that we should be targeting more imports from the Asian continent.

Of late, there have been three names associated with Celtic FC in relation to joining come the January transfer window opening. Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, and Yosuke Ideguchi are the names that have been widely reported as viable signings. Maeda and Hatate are the most likely, with numerous commentators sceptical about the arrival of Ideguchi.

Dan Orlowitz has been the journalist keeping fans abreast of the machinations in the J-League over Celtic’s pursuit of fresh talent. He admitted that he can definitely see the Bhoys signing Maeda and even Hatate next month but that he is reticent to expect all three Japanese players to join all at once.

Over the past while he has been bombarded on social media with Celtic fans asking for updates regarding these three Japanese players. He joked this evening in a reply to one Celtic fan that if he had a dollar for every time he had been asked for updates on that trio, he would be able to buy Christmas presents for an entire hospital ward or a PS5!

Have a look at the interaction…

WE’VE GOT SOMETHING TWICE AS GOOD…

Thanks to everyone who ordered Harry Hood – Twice as Good for Christmas presents. If you got an Ange jumper instead then why not order this brilliant book by Matt Corr, or indeed David Potter’s biography of another Celtic legend Alec McNair – born on this day incidentally – from Celtic Star Books or from the official Celtic stores?
